On 29 October 2025, the Final International Conference of the WE ARE HER project took place in Brussels, marking the culmination of two years of collaboration, learning, and action for gender equality and women’s empowerment. The event followed the project’s final Youth Exchange on “Gender Imbalances in Decision-Making and Politics,” which brought together 25 young participants from all partner countries.
The conference opened with an overview of the project’s development and achievements, showcasing how WE ARE HER fostered dialogue, creativity, and youth empowerment across Europe and the MENA region. A panel with representatives from USB, SIFD, ASPIRE, BDK, and RDFL reflected on their experiences, challenges, and lessons learned throughout the international exchanges and local activities.
Youth ambassadors and participants of the final exchange then shared their personal insights, highlighting their roles as facilitators and how the project strengthened their leadership and advocacy skills. They also presented the local campaigns designed by each organisation, including the upcoming joint action for the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence.
The conference concluded with the presentation of policy recommendations—one of the project’s key outcomes—addressing actions at the individual, organisational, national, and European levels. The day ended with a shared sense of achievement and renewed commitment to advancing gender equality beyond the project’s lifetime.
